Palm Springs Meet

Final Day @ JO's

2-3-08: Today was the final day of Spring JO's. Kudo's to the diehard parents who sat in those bleachers for 3 days straight! Here's a shot of what the inside of this complex look like. (You can see some of our team down at the bottom right corner of the pix.)

This final day saw a lot of excitement, both in the individual events and the relays. Check out the slide show and the captions for more info.


Kudo's also to our coaches who were there during this 3-day meet. They really got into their coaching, as Coach Audy demonstrates here and as seen in the other pictures.


And so ends another year of Spring JO's at this Olympic pool. Hope to see this pool again next year!

Day 2 @ Spring JO's

2-2-08: It's the 2nd day at JO's down in Long Beach, and here are some of the relays at the end of a long day of swimming.

The coaches exhorting our relay swimmers to go faster! Not sure why Coach James looks so distressed...I think this was the team that got 1st in their heat!

Day 1 @ Spring JO's

2-1-08: Long Beach - Friday was the first day of Spring JO's for those kids who worked hard to qualify for this particular meet. Some, like Collin, aged up the day before JO's so had to enter against a whole new group of boys! (And held is own very nicely.)

After warm-ups, Coach Vicky brought the kids out by the beach to give them a pep talk and last minute instructions. She also asked them their goals for this meet--which some kids had a hard time answering!

Mostly sunny @ RST BC Meet

1-27-08 RST hosts its first meet of the new year, the BC Meet. For a lot of these kids, it was their first meet so it was nice to be on "home turf".

While it had been raining a lot, the weather was nice all AM and part of the afternoon, when the clouds finally rolled in, so no relays for the older girls.

At the right is one of the winning relay teams from the AM group. Congrats to all the RST swimmers and parents who helped out with this one day meet!

Last Ditch at Temec

1-20-08: On a cold weekend, RST gathered at Temec for the "last ditch" meet--last ditch because this was their last chance to get qualifying times for the upcoming Spring JO's.

As you can see from the rising steam, it was a cold AM, but the kids battled through the cold and swam their best.

New Roofs!

1-20-08: Thx to Eddie Gornay and RST parents, we now have a new training room with a new roof! The other storage units also have a new roof just like this one.

Great job to all those who helped put this together!
